THIS WRIT PETITION (CRIMINAL) HAVING COME UP FOR ADMISSION ON

 WP(Crl.).No.34 OF 2021 2

                                      JUDGMENT

K. Vinod Chandran, J.

Petitioner is before this Court claiming that

the alleged detenue is in the illegal custody of her

father, the 2nd respondent. It was submitted that they

are in love and it is due to objection of her father

that she is kept in illegal custody. We directed the

Police to get a statement of the alleged detenue

through a woman police officer, which has been

produced before us along with a Memo of the learned

Senior Government Pleader. In the statement, the

alleged detenue submits that she is not in any illegal

custody. It is also submitted that she knew the

petitioner from her College days, where he was a

classmate. They only had a friendship and later, after

the petitioner went to Gulf, he expressed desire to

marry her. The parents of the alleged detenue made

enquiries and were not happy with the alliance and so

was the alleged detenue not happy to go ahead with the

alliance.

In such circumstances, we do not find any

reason to keep the writ petition pending and hence the

same is dismissed.
