This writ petition was filed by two minors represented
by their father. Their prayer in the writ petition is
seeking permission to visit Sabarimala Temple and offer
prayers there. The prayers are as follows:
i. To issue a writ in the nature of Mandamus, or any
other writ; order on direction directing the respondents to
give permission to the petitioners to visit Sabarimala
temple and to offer prayers and to enable the petitioners
for getting permission for booking of virtual Q for
Sabarimala darshan.
ii. To grant such other reliefs as this Hon'ble Court may
deem fit and proper in the circumstances of the case
2. The learned counsel for the petitioners
referred to the judgment of this Court in W.P.(C).No. WPC No.17328/2021
9769 of 2021 dated 16/4/2021 granting similar relief to
a minor child. The learned counsel for the Board
submitted that they have no objection in allowing the
petitioners in offering prayers at Sabarimala temple as
sought for in the writ petition. The said submission
is recorded.
3. We, therefore, allow the petitioners to offer
prayers at Sabarimala. The respondents 1 and 2 are
directed to ensure that the petitioners are able to
visit the temple along with their father after
obtaining booking for darshan. The petitioners shall
produce COVID negative certificate from the authorised
Lab before the competent authority.
The writ petition is disposed of as above.
