Heard Mr. S Islam, the learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Mr. P. Borthakur, the learned Addl. PP appearing on behalf of State respondent.

2. This is an application u/s 482 BNSS for granting pre-arrest bail to the accused/petitioner who is in apprehension of arrest in connection with Barpeta Road P.S case.

3. It is submitted by Mr. Islam that there was a business dealing between the petitioner and with one Manoj Goel from Delhi and there was a business of plastic bags but subsequently there was some dispute between them and the said Manoj Goel has threatened to lodge an FIR. On 02.05.2025 and on some subsequent days the police also visited the house of the petitioner and hence he has apprehension of arrest and accordingly prayed for some interim protection may be provided.

4. Mr. Borthakur submitted that Report may be called for from the concerned police station and raised objection in granting any interim protection.

5. Considering the submission made by learned counsel for both sides and the nature of offence as stated in the FIR, let the Report be called for from the Barpeta Road Police Station as to whether any case has been registered against the present petitioner.

6. In the same time, till receipt of the Report, the police from the Barpeta Road Police Station is hereby directed not to take any coercive action against the present petitioner.

7. List the matter accordingly on 03.06.2026.
