Heard B. Sarma, learned Additional Public Prosecutor for the State respondent.

2. This appeal is preferred by appellant namely, Phuleswar Chutia, who has been languishing in jail hazot in connection with the Sessions Case No. 53[NL]/2012, under Section 376[2][g] of the IPC.

3. It is to be noted here that vide impugned judgment and order dated 03.03.2022, the learned Sessions Judge, Lakhimpur, North Lakhimpur has convicted the appellant under Section 376[2][g] of the IPC and sentenced him to Page No.# 2/2

suffer rigorous imprisonment for 10 years with fine of Rs. 1,000/- with default stipulation.

4. Since this appeal is being preferred from jail, the Registry shall engage Ms. Debashree Saikia as Legal Aid Counsel to present the case of the appellant and reflect her name in the cause-list.

5. The Registry shall also issue notice to the informant of the case and call for the record from the learned court below.

6. List the matter on 27.02.2024.
