Heard Mr. Z. Kamar, learned counsel for the applicant/appellant as well as Mr. S.C. Keyal, learned Standing Counsel for the CBI.
This appeal under Section 27 of the P.C. Act, 1988 read with Section 374 Cr.P.C. is preferred against the impugned Judgment and Order, dated 24.12.2020, passed by the learned Special Judge, CBI, Assam, Guwahati in Special Case No. 03/2009, convicting the Page No.# 2/2
accused appellant under Section 12 of the P.C. Act and sentencing him to undergo imprisonment for a period of 3 years and to pay a fine of Rs.10,000/- in default, to undergo S.I. for another 1 month.
As Mr. S.C. Keyal, learned Standing Counsel for the CBI has accepted notice on behalf the respondent, no fresh notice needs to be issued to him. However, a copy of the memo of appeal along with the documents annexed thereto, be furnished to him during the course of the day.
The appeal is admitted.
