1. The impugned order is an order passed in one of a batch of Original Applications which were disposed of by the Central Administrative Tribunal1 without discussing the individual features of any of the case.

2. We have already laid down the principles which apply in such cases in our decisions in Staff Selection Commission v Aman Singh2 and Staff Selection Commission v Amit Goswami3. Similar matters have been quashed and remanded for de novo decision on the merits of the matter.

3. Following the said decisions, the impugned order is quashed and set aside.

4. O.A. 1101/2024 stands remanded to the Tribunal for de novo decision in light of the principles laid down by us in the aforenoted judgments.

5. Let the parties appear before the Tribunal on 29 January 2025.

6. We request the Tribunal to decide the matter as expeditiously as possible.

7. The petition is accordingly allowed.
