1. A status report is handed over by learned counsel for the respondent/GNCTD. The wife of the petitioner, Smt. Preeti is present along with the petitioner's cousin, Mr. Gaurav, with whom she had allegedly eloped. It is stated by Mr. Mehra that Ms. Preeti and Mr. Gaurav were located at Village Ranjan, District Pune, Maharashtra. Smt. Soma, the mother of Smt. Preeti is also present in Court.

2. On enquiring if she is willing to return to her matrimonial home, Ms.Preeti declines to do so and states that the petitioner has been torturing and harassing her for several years, which has compelled her to leave the matrimonial home. She states that she has decided to return to her parental home and will be taking steps to file a divorce petition. She however

expresses an apprehension that the petitioner may abandon their three minor children, who are presently in his custody.

3. The petitioner, who is present in person, assures the Court that he has no intention of abandoning the children. He submits that he has been attending to the needs of the children and sending them to school regularly.

4. It has been enquired from the parties if they are ready and willing to explore the possibility of negotiating a settlement through mediation. Smt. Preeti categorically refuses to participate in any negotiations and states that she would rather take legal recourse against the petitioner.

5. In view of the fact that relief in the present petition stands satisfied on the production of Smt. Preeti, no further orders are required to be passed in the present petition, which is disposed of.
