Mr. Mateen Siddiqui, Dy. A.G. for the State. Heard on application (I.A.01/2020) for condonation of delay in filing the criminal appeal.

Taking into consideration the short period of delay and reason assigned in the application and that the appellant has suffered life imprisonment under the impugned judgment, we are inclined to condone the delay so as to afford the appellant an opportunity to contest the matter on merits. The application (I.A.01/2020) is allowed.

Delay is accordingly condoned.

The appeal is admitted for hearing.

Learned State counsel takes notice and may file objection/reply on application for suspension of sentence and grant of bail within three weeks.

The Registry to prepare paper book as per rules, upon receipt of records.
