The instant revision is filed by the accused of case no. Haroa Police

Station Case No. N 90 of 2019 pending before the learned Additional

Sessions Judge, 6th Court, Barasat, North 24 Parganas arising out of Haroa

Police Station Case No. 236 of 2019 dated 14 th June, 2019 under Section

21 ( C)/29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

This court is of the view that the instant revision can be disposed of

here and now with the assistance of the learned advocate for the State. Mr.

Joydeep Roy, learned advocate is requested to assist this court on behalf of

the State. Appointment of Mr. Joydeep Roy be regularized by the learned

Legal Remembrancer, Government of West Bengal.

It is submitted by the learned advocate for the petitioner that the

accused was arrested on 14 th June, 2019 for the instant case. Since then

he is in custody. Charge sheet was filed against the accused under Section

21 ( C)/29 of the N. D. P. S. Act on 9 th August, 2019. Supplementary

charge sheet with chemical examination report was filed on 15 th March,

2020. Thereafter charge was framed against the accused on 9 th December,

2020 and the trial court fixed three consecutive dates starting from 8 th

February, 2021 for recording evidence on behalf of the prosecution. During

the said period only two witnesses out of eight chargesheeted witnesses

were examined.

Since the next date of trial is fixed on 26 th and 29th September,

2022, the trial court is directed to examine remaining witnesses on the

dates fixed. The trial court is also directed to ensure production of

witnesses by the I. O. on the dates fixed.

With the above order the instant revision is disposed of.
