Counter affidavit filed today is taken on record.

Heard learned counsel for the parties.

The present application has been filed seeking quashing of the proceedings in Criminal Case no. 617 of 2010 (State Vs. Ajai Kumar and Others), under Sections 504 and 506 IPC and Section 3/4 D.P.Act, P.S. Maruwadih, District Varanasi, on the basis of the compromise arrived at between the parties, which in on record.

Counsel for the parties states that they have verified the signatures of the compromise in their presence.

In view of the fact that the matter has been compromised, no useful purpose would be served in keeping the matter pending.

Considering the judgment of the Supreme Court in the case of Gian Singh Vs. State of Punjab and Another reported in (2012) 10 SCC 303, the proceedings of the aforementioned case are quashed.

The application is accordingly disposed of.
