Heard Sri Gaurav Mehrotra, learned counsel for the petitioner.
Learned counsel for the petitioner has submitted that despite the order being passed by this Court, the department is going to convene the Departmental Promotion Committee today i.e. 08.06.2018, at 4:00 p.m.. The copy of the instant contempt petition was given to the learned Additional Chief Standing Counsel in the morning for seeking instructions in the matter.
Sri Ramesh Pandey, learned Chief Standing Counsel has submitted that no Departmental Promotion Committee, as alleged by the petitioner, is going to be convened today, rather, it has been postponed. Sri Pandey has also submitted that the authorities concerned are fully cautious about the order of this Court and they cannot dare to flout any directions being issued by this Court.
Therefore on account of the aforesaid reasons, this contempt petition has been rendered infructuous.
The contempt petition is, therefore, dismissed as infructuous.
