Notice on behalf of opposite party no.1 has been accepted by the learned Chief Standing Counsel.

Notice to opposite party no.2 is dispensed with.

By means of this writ petition, the petitioner prays for direction in the nature of mandamus  commanding the opposite party no.1 to decide the election petition bearing no.4 of 2010, namely, Dharm Pal Singh versus Arun Kumar and others, within the stipulated period.

Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel.

Learned Standing Counsel has no objection to the innocuous prayer made by the learned counsel for the petitioner to the effect that the election petition may be directed to be disposed of within the stipulated time.

Accordingly, the writ petition is disposed of with the direction to the opposite party no.1 to decide the election within a period of  one year from today.
