About the Organisation
Justice Ventures International is inviting internship applications for law students based in Mumbai.The work pertains to research on diverse issues relating to violation of Basic Human Rights. The organisation work on trafficking, Labour rights, women rights and urban policy.
Nature of Internship
- The organisation is also looking for interns who can commit for a longer period with breaks for exams and lectures as and when necessary.
- The interns will be expected to assist in field visits, court hearings, drafting applications/ PILs/ Notices/ Writ Petitions, Client Counselling.
- The Applicant will also be expected to assist brief in court cases and participate in strategy meetings with clients and senior lawyers.
- The work will sometimes also require dealing with the victims in cases of sexual harassment/ Rape/ trafficking etc.
- Sensitivity to these issues is a must. Also, familiarity with the laws pertaining to children will be helpful.
Qualifications and Skills
- 2nd/3rd-year law student.
- Interned with legal networks, practising advocates, civil society organisations.
- Good communication skills in Marathi, English and Hindi.
- Basic drafting and research skills.
- Knowledge of MS office.
