About the Internship
This opportunity is being introduced as part of IERL’s commitment to creating meaningful academic and professional opportunities for law students, while promoting financial empowerment, skill development, independent thinking, teaching ability, and structured academic engagement.
The internship is intended for students who demonstrate seriousness towards academic work, possess the ability to communicate effectively, and show potential to contribute meaningfully in educational and institutional spaces.
Nature of Internship
Selected candidates may be required to deliver lectures, assist in academic instruction, and undertake such academic responsibilities as may be assigned by IERL from time to time.
Selected candidates shall ordinarily be required to deliver lectures for 2 to 3 days, depending upon the nature of the assignment and institutional requirements.
The internship engagement shall be made on a rolling basis, and the nature, scope, and duration of engagement shall depend upon the role assigned to the selected candidate and the requirements of the institution.

Legal Academic Intern (Teaching & Academic Engagement)
Responsibilities
The selected candidates may be required to:
- Deliver lectures on assigned topics
- Assist in academic instruction and student engagement
- Conduct sessions in English medium
- Use the PPTs, content, and academic materials provided by IERL
- Maintain a structured, professional, and engaging teaching approach
- Carry out academic responsibilities with seriousness, clarity, and discipline
Eligibility
Applicants must satisfy the following academic eligibility requirements:
- Students of the 3rd year or above in a 5-year integrated law course, or
- Students of the 2nd year or above in a 3-year LL.B. course
In addition:
- Candidates must possess good communication and presentation skills
- Candidates must be capable of handling academic responsibilities independently
- Preference shall be given to candidates who are content creators and possess prior teaching experience
Stipend
This is a paid internship opportunity.
Stipend Range: Rs. 1,500 to Rs. 9,000
The final stipend may vary depending upon the nature of the role, the scope of engagement, and the requirements of the institution.
Selection Process
The selection process shall be conducted in the following stages:
- Round 1 – CV Screening: Applications shall first be assessed on the basis of the candidate’s Curriculum Vitae (CV), academic profile, relevant experience, and overall suitability for the role.
- Round 2 – Discussion Round: Candidates shortlisted after the CV screening shall be invited for a discussion round, wherein their communication skills, academic orientation, subject understanding, and suitability for the role shall be assessed.
- Round 3 – Interview Round: Candidates shortlisted after the discussion round shall be invited for a final interview round, following which the institution shall determine the final selection.
- Term Sheet: A Term Sheet containing the detailed terms and conditions of engagement shall be provided only to candidates who are shortlisted after successful completion of Round 1 of the selection process.

The subject line of the email must be written in the following format: Assessment Paid Internship – [Your Name] – MAY – [Your Current Year].
Example: Assessment Paid Internship – Rahul Sharma – May – 3rd Year (5-Year Law Course).
The body of the email must briefly explain:
- Why the applicant is applying for the internship opportunity; and
- Why the applicant believes they are suitable for the role.
The following documents must be attached to the email:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- A two-page article/essay on the following topic: “Live-in Relationships and Social Morality”.
Article/Essay Guidelines
The article / essay submitted by the applicant must strictly comply with the following requirements:
- The article / essay must be written entirely by the applicant personally.
- The article / essay must be original and independently prepared.
- The use of ChatGPT, Grammarly, or any other Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool, automated writing tool, language enhancement platform, or external content-generation tool is strictly prohibited.
- Minor grammatical or language mistakes shall not be treated adversely, provided the work is genuinely the applicant’s own original writing.
- Greater importance shall be placed on authenticity, originality, independent thinking, and personal analytical ability than on mechanical perfection.
At the end of the final page of the article / essay, the applicant must include the following declaration:
Declaration: I hereby declare that this article / essay has been written entirely by me without the use of ChatGPT, Grammarly, or any other Artificial Intelligence (AI) tool, automated writing tool, language enhancement platform, or external content-generation platform. The work submitted is my own original and independent writing.
Failure to include the above declaration may result in the application being treated as incomplete and may lead to rejection at the preliminary stage.
Deadline
The last date for submission of applications / expression of interest is 30th April 2026.
Applications received after the prescribed deadline may not be considered.
