June 7,2018:
Jemima Goldsmith, Former Wife of Cricketer-turned-Politician Imran Khan, warned on Wednesday that she would file a Defamation Suit against Reham Khan, his second wife, if her “libellous” autobiography is published in United Kingdom.
Goldsmith’s warning came soon after Reham’s lawyer Yasser Latif Hamdani stated that the upcoming autobiography is not intended at influencing Pakistan’s general election as is being alleged by Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party.
Goldsmith stated that though she has been assured that Reham’s book was too “libellous” to be published in the UK, she would sue on behalf of her son for defamation and breach of privacy if it did see the light of day.
She further added that,“I will be suing for defamation and breach of privacy on behalf of my (then) 16-year-old son and in relation to the moronic, re-hashed Zionist conspiracy theories”.
Reham’s autobiography reportedly includes details of her interactions with the various celebrities and her marriage with Imran. Some which have apparently crossed a line for those who sent her the legal notice.
Reham’s autobiography triggered a controversy last week, when Actor Hamza Ali Abbasi claimed he had read the manuscript and accused her of working at behest of the PML-N to malign several PTI leaders and activists ahead of the general election to be held on July 25.
