Lakhs of people including 539 females under the age group of 10-50 years have registered themselves on the recently 539 females among 3 lakh register for pilgrimage to Sabarimala.
As many as 3 lakh people have registered their names on the website www.sabarimalaq.com launched by the state Police for hassle-free visit to the shrine.
With the new system in force, devotees can now opt for their preferred date & time to visit the 12th-century temple.
The new move also allows them to fix darshan timings & book bus tickets from Nilakkal to Pamba. The booking will be valid for 48 hours.
The Sabarimala Temple & surrounding areas witnessed a string of protests recently over the Supreme Court's decision to quash restrictions on the entry of females of menstruating age, between 10 & 50 years, into the holy shrine.
As many as 3,505 protesters have been arrested & around 529 cases were registered so far in connection with series of violence in the state after the opening of the Temple gate in October this year.
