The India Rounds of Brown Mosten International Client Consultation Competition shall be hosted by Lloyd Law College, Greater Noida, from 14th – 16th Feb. 2025.
Lloyd Law College is a premier educational institution offering legal education since 2003 in Affiliation with CCS University, Meerut, U.P. (state university established in 1965), and approved by the Bar Council of India (Statutory body for professional legal education in India).
The College was blessed with the guidance, mentorship and patronage of Padma Bhushan Prof. (Dr.) N.R. Madhava Menon,the distinguished educationist and the flag bearer of legal education reforms in India. Prof. Menon was a visionary of legal education and the designer and architect of the five‐year integrated B.A.LL.B. Programme in India and the Founder of the premier legal institutions of the country including the National Law School of India University, Bangalore and the National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata.
Recognized as the ‘Legend of Law’ and ‘Father of Modern Legal Education in India’, Prof. Menon’s relentless efforts in revamping and modernizing the legal education of the country has successfully brought Indian legal education at par with the legal institutions in the developed countries.
Each round of the competition consists of two stages:
In the first stage, participants interview with a person portraying the client. Their main task shall be extracting relevant information, exploring the client’s preferred outcome, outlining the nature of the problem, and presenting the client with potential means or a range of alternatives for resolving the issue.
The second stage shall be a post‐consultation period in which the participants, will analyse the interview and discuss the course of action to be undertaken, in the absence of the client.
Both the stages shall be conducted in a period of 35 minutes, in total, wherein the first stage shall be of 25 minutes and the second of 10 minutes. Judges shall evaluate the participants based on specific criteria such as listening, questioning, planning, and analytical skills in a lawyer‐client interview. After the Judges complete their evaluation, the participants may be called back in, by the Judges to provide a feedback of their performance.
The winning team shall be selected to represent India at the coveted International Round of the Brown Mosten International Client Consultation Competition to be held at the University of Glasgow, Scotland from 8th to 12th April, 2025. The theme of the event shall be “Consumer and Contract Law”.
The India-National Rounds shall be hosted at Lloyd Law College, Plot No. 11, Knowledge Park – II, Greater Noida, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh – 201306. The competition shall be conducted in offline mode.
The fee for each team shall be INR 4000/- (Rupees Four Thousand Only).
The winning team shall be selected to represent India at the coveted international round of Brown Mosten International Client Consultation Competition to be held at the University of Glasgow, Scotland from 8th to 12th April, 2025.
