About the Organizers

The India Rounds of Brown Mosten International Client Consultation Competition shall be hosted by Lloyd Law College, Greater Noida, from 14th – 16th Feb. 2025.

Lloyd Law College is a premier educational institution offering legal education since 2003 in Affiliation with CCS University, Meerut, U.P. (state university established in 1965), and approved by the Bar Council of India (Statutory body for professional legal education in India).

The College was blessed with the guidance, mentorship and patronage of Padma Bhushan Prof. (Dr.) N.R. Madhava Menon,the distinguished educationist and the flag bearer of legal education reforms in India. Prof. Menon was a visionary of legal education and the designer and architect of the five‐year integrated B.A.LL.B. Programme in India and the Founder of the premier legal institutions of the country including the National Law School of India University, Bangalore and the National University of Juridical Sciences, Kolkata.

Recognized as the ‘Legend of Law’ and ‘Father of Modern Legal Education in India’, Prof. Menon’s relentless efforts in revamping and modernizing the legal education of the country has successfully brought Indian legal education at par with the legal institutions in the developed countries.

Details of the Event

Each round of the competition consists of two stages:

  • Client Interviewing and Counselling stage, and
  • Post-interview and Counselling stage without the Client.

In the first stage, participants interview with a person portraying the client. Their main task shall be extracting relevant information, exploring the client’s preferred outcome, outlining the nature of the problem, and presenting the client with potential means or a range of alternatives for resolving the issue.

The second stage shall be a post‐consultation period in which the participants, will analyse the interview and discuss the course of action to be undertaken, in the absence of the client.

Both the stages shall be conducted in a period of 35 minutes, in total, wherein the first stage shall be of 25 minutes and the second of 10 minutes. Judges shall evaluate the participants based on specific criteria such as listening, questioning, planning, and analytical skills in a lawyer‐client interview. After the Judges complete their evaluation, the participants may be called back in, by the Judges to provide a feedback of their performance.

The winning team shall be selected to represent India at the coveted International Round of the Brown Mosten International Client Consultation Competition to be held at the University of Glasgow, Scotland from 8th to 12th April, 2025. The theme of the event shall be “Consumer and Contract Law”.

Eligibility

  • Students from Law Colleges or Universities, recognized by the Bar Council of India are eligible to participate. Only one team is allowed to represent an institution.
  • Only Students pursuing LL.B. (Three Year or Five Year Degree) programmes in aforementioned institutions, during the current academic year are eligible to participate.
  • Each team shall comprise of two participants both of whom shall be from the same institution.
  • Members of any past winning team of the Brown Mosten International Client Consultation Competition are not allowed to re‐enter the Competition.

Location

The India-National Rounds shall be hosted at Lloyd Law College, Plot No. 11, Knowledge Park – II, Greater Noida, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh – 201306. The competition shall be conducted in offline mode.

Registration Procedure

  • STEP 1– The Teams are required to make the payment of the registration fee of INR 4000 (Rupees Four Thousand Only) in favour of the following, and keep a receipt of payment with them:
    • ACCOUNT NAME – LLOYD LAW COLLEGE
    • ACCOUNT NUMBER – 218305000036

    • BANK & BRANCH – ICICI BANK & OMEGA 1
    • Note: UPI Payments are not permitted. All payments will have to be made through net banking only
  • STEP 2 ‐ The Teams are required to fill the Registration form available on the website. The registration link is also mentioned at the end of this post.
  • The teams are required to upload Proof of payment in the registration form.
  • STEP 3 ‐ The Teams are required to take the print of the duly registration form.
  • STEP 4 ‐ The Teams are required to print and sign Annexure (A) along with the signature of the Institution’s Director/Dean/HOI.
  • STEP 5 ‐ The Teams shall send the copy of registration form, proof of payment and Annexure (A) by post to Dr. Akhilesh Kumar Khan, Director Lloyd Law College & Lloyd School of Law, (9895061522) Plot No. 11, Knowledge Park II, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh 201306. Please mail the tracking id for at iccc2025@lloydlawcollege.edu.in under the subject “Tracking Id”.
  • STEP 6 ‐ The teams are also required to carry physical copies of registration form, proof of payment, Annexure (A) and their college IDs on the date of reporting.

  • Commencement of Pre-Registration – 26th November 2024
  • Commencement of Registration – 13th December 2024
  • Last Date of Registration – 15th January 2025
  • Event Dates – 14th to 16th February 2025

Fee Details

The fee for each team shall be INR 4000/- (Rupees Four Thousand Only).

Prizes

The winning team shall be selected to represent India at the coveted international round of Brown Mosten International Client Consultation Competition to be held at the University of Glasgow, Scotland from 8th to 12th April, 2025.
