Program on Patent Prosecution by CII and University of Hyderabad [Feb 27]: No Fee; Registrations Open

The Technology Industrial Liaison and Entrepreneurship Unit (TIE-U) of the University of Hyderabad in collaboration with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and Indian Patent Office(IPO)  is organizing a one day workshop “IP-AWAKE : An Interactive Session on Patent Prosecution”. Experts from Indian patent office and experts from some reputed IPR firms are the resource persons of the workshop.

Event Description

Though India is recognized as a nation with vast pool of scientists and technologists, patent flings in India accounts to nearly one fourth of all the patent filings. It suggests that Academia is unaware of IPR and its importance in creating and protecting innovations.

Also, the academia is discouraged by the complexities involved in the process of creating and protecting IP rights. They also lack of sufficient Human resources to handle IPR matters.  Most of the institutes have not yet evolved their IP strategies, policies and ecosystems. Hence there is a need to conduct a series of workshops & seminars across all the states of India to promote IPR awareness.

The proposed one day seminar on awareness of IPR aims to address the gaps present in between innovation to IPR filings & protection to enforcement. Topics covered are customized as per the need of Academia, which include importance of Prior Art Analytics in Research, identifying IP Assets, various steps involved in IPR filing & protection.
