Concept Note
The dawn of the 21st century broke with the environmental crisis as clouds of ashes and dirt of industrial development over the yester decades haunt the light, shower the fire and end all life. While the rush for economic advancement is still not calmed the world has finally recognised that the Environmental crisis has become a big issue in today’s time. Protection of the environment is high on most countries’ priorities in the 21st century with a call for Protection, Preservation and Rebuilding of Nature and formulations for stringent laws for protecting the source of all creation. The snags range from streets to the stratosphere, giving rise to an ever-elaborate long list of problems such as pollution, desertification, waste management problems, diseases and public health, preservation of biodiversity, wildlife crimes, disaster management, acid rain and greenhouse gas emissions leading to global warming.
“We do not wish to impoverish the environment any further and yet we cannot for a moment forget the grim poverty of large numbers of people. Are not poverty and need the greatest polluters?” – Indira Gandhi in her Speech to the UN Conference on Human Environment, Stockholm, Sweden, 14 June 1972 said. Since then the situation of the country on both fronts has changed and evolved, but not all for good. Hence through this Two-day National Conference, we want to provide a platform to deliberate through extensive research and point of view of the young intellectual minds as what, where, why needs to change so that the Laws for Nature can achieve the ends of sustaining the Laws of Nature.
The objective of the conference is to provide the legal fraternity and academia with a platform where they can present their research and update society with the new developments and reforms taking place in the field of environmental law.
