About GNLU

The Gujarat National Law University is a National Law University established under the Gujarat National Law University Act, 2003 in the state of Gujarat. The university is located at Gandhinagar, which is the capital of Gujarat and is located 23 kilometres north of the city of Ahmedabad.

About the Competition

The history of our race and civilization is incomplete without the history of law. The study of legal history is significant in the 21st century as it reflects the best thoughts of people in the society which are imbibed in the legislations they make; their daily life best mirrored in the usages and customs which constitute the law of their ordinary transactions.

The present-day legal system is an outcome of conscious and unconscious attempts and decisions to improve the then situation and problems by the legal mechanism. The ongoing legal transplantation with and without social transformation brings numerous gaps that need to be researched and answered through historical inquiries.

In pursuance of our ongoing research and dedication to legal history studies, we, at GNLU, are organizing the first All India Legal History Congress on 14-15 February 2020.

Eligibility Criteria

UG and PG students, professionals and scholars interested in the study of Law and History.

Call for Papers

Gujarat National Law University is inviting call for papers for its All India Legal Congress.

Word Limit

• Abstract: 300 words
• Panel Proposal: 300 words
• Abstract for Poster Presentation: 500 words
• Full Research Paper: 4000- 5000 words
• Poster: A-2 Size

Deadlines

• Submission Deadline for Abstract/Paper Proposal: 20th January 2020
• Submission Deadline for Research Paper: 31st January 2020
• Last Date of Registration: 31st January 2020

The list of selected abstracts will be declared within a week.

Registration Fees

Rs. 1500 and Rs. 1000 for every additional co-author or panellist.

Note: Food, lodging and boarding charges have to borne by the participants.
