In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (e) of Section 42 of the Rajasthan Excise Act, 1950 (Rajasthan Act 2 of 1950), and in supersession of previous rules on the subject, the Excise Commissioner with previous sanction of the State Government hereby makes the following rules, namely:-

  1. Short title.- These rules may be called the Rajasthan Country Liquor (Fixation of Strength) Rules, 1963.

[2. Strength of Country Liquor. - The strength in excess of or below which various authorised varieties of Country Liquor shall not be sold or supplied or possessed is fixed as follows, namely:-

Serial No. Variety of Liquor Strength
(1) Kesar kastoori 5 U.P.
(2) Gulab (Light Caramel Colour) 50 U.P.
(3) Sada (Trinage of Light Caramel Colour) 50 U.P.
(4) Pine Apple 50 U.P.
(5) Sathia (Dark Caramel Colour) 60 U.P.

 

Explanation. - The possession and sale of liquor other than prescribed above shall be allowed upto 30th June, 1995 provided such liquor was of the prescribed strength as per the provisions in force upto 31-3-1995.]
