An Act to amend the Identification of Prisoners Act, 1920 in its application to the Presidency of Bombay.

Whereas it is expedient to amend the Identification of Prisoners Act, 1920, in its application to the Presidency of Bombay, for the purpose hereinafter appearing; And whereas the previous sanction of the Governor-General required by sub-section (3) of section 80A of the Government of India Act has been obtained for the passing of this Act; It is hereby enacted as follows

1. Short title and extent.- (1) This Act may be called the Identification of Prisoners (Bombay Second Amendment) Act, 1935.

(2) It extends to the whole of the Presidency of Bombay.

2. Amendment of section 3 of Act XXXIII of 1920.- In clause (a) of section 3 of the Identification of Prisoners Act, 1920, hereinafter called the said Act, after the word "punishable" the words and figures "under section [121]of the City of Bombay Police Act, 1902, or of any other offence punishable" shall be inserted.
3. Amendment of section 4 of Act XXXIII of 1920.- This amendment stands repealed in view of substitution of new section 4 by Bombay 15 of 1948, Section 2.
