June 26, 2019:

The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday arrested a 39-year-old assistant public prosecutor from the Andheri court for demanding and accepting Rs50,000 from a cheating case accused, to help him wind up a case.

An ACB team laid a trap at the court & caught Priti Jagtap while she was accepting the bribe from the complainant. ACB sources said that the complainant was an accused in a cheating case registered at Amboli police station in 2012.

"The accused & complainant had mutually decided to end the Amboli case & wanted to file an application for compromise before court," said a source. For this, the accused (ACB case complainant) approached Jagtap & told her to file the documents & complete the process before the court at the earliest.

ACB sources said that Jagtap demanded a bribe to speed up the process. "The complainant approached ACB & we verified the information & registered an FIR. The ACB team on Saturday laid the trap & arrested Jagtap," the source said. She was booked under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
