Recently, a man was found using a well-known local brand Vodka Hanoi for the purpose of preparing fake bottles having well-known marks such as Chivas and Hennessy. Police arrested him for his acts. It was reported that 5 fake bottles of Chivas and Hennessy were seized from the premises of the accused which was a café. It was alleged that such bottles were prepared by mixing four bottles of Vodka Hanoi, one bottle of foreign wine, water, flavors, and some additives. The case is being investigated by the police so as to find out the answers to two very important questions i.e., whether the counterfeiter had used harmful chemicals in the manufacturing premise or not and how large was the manufacturing scale?

Basically, the term alcohol encompasses really a wide range of chemicals that are closely related to each other but are used in different applications. Real alcohol, the one that is suitable for us to drink, is also globally known as ethyl alcohol. The reason behind its name is that it contains the chemical ethanol which gets absorbed directly into the bloodstream resulting in intoxication.

Isopropyl alcohol is one of the kinds of alcohol that is used by nurses to rub on the skin right before giving an injection. It is also known as rubbing alcohol. Another chemical ethylene glycol which is having its name as antifreeze; and chemical methanol is a by-product of the distillation of wood which gives it the name of wood alcohol. It is also primarily used in the manufacturing of other chemicals. Another use of wood alcohol is to fuel internal combustion engines of racing cars.

In simple words, only ethanol is fit for human consumption. Consumption of others can be proved fatal. Although, a minute amount of methanol is present in most alcoholic beverages. But it is to be noted that this amount of methanol is too little to cause any kind of damage.

It is generally said that fake or cheaper alcohols can be fatal to humans, there is a scientific reason behind that which is the higher quantity of methanol than the permitted levels which are added to the beverage, and later they are bottled, sealed, and sold for a very much cheaper price than the real alcohol.

Vodka Hanoi is one of the most famous local spirit brands of Vietnam due to which counterfeiters leave no chance to target this brand. This first premium vodka was made in Vietnam in 1898. It is produced in Hanoi, as the name suggests. However, this one local brand of vodka is that one brand upon which most of the countrymen depend. Basically, Vodka Hanoi is not exactly premium liquor but a spirit of reasonable quality which is given at a relatively lower price. Mind it; this spirit is capable enough to give the mother of all hangovers if gone overboard. It is quite obvious when liquor is available as widely as this spirit that too at a reasonable price then it will undoubtedly draw the same customers in spite of the consequences. This spirit is undoubtedly earning its place in the hearts of many people.

Halico who is the brand owner is very much conscious of the importance of his brand’s protection. They are well equipped with modern systems and other technologies such as applying packaging and labeling technologies. They always prefer to change their labels very often with the aim to avoid counterfeits and to protect their consumers.
