June,8,2016:
Nitin Gadkari , the Union Road Transport & Highways Minister and Ex.BJP Chief has on Tuesday ignited a debate over the recent Judgments passed by judiciary thereby intervening in Government and Executive matters.
He said that if Judiciary proceeds only as per the Constitution then it will be good and beneficial for both the people and the country . Gadkari's this statement is being looked upon as a reaction to Chief Justice of India T S Thakur's recent statement that the judiciary is constrained to intervene only when the executive fails in its duty to people.
Union Minister added that here is a fair and reasonable chance of failure in every field but to what extent a field can be allowed to intervene with the other is still debatable and contentious.
"If any Government fails in the legislative arena, then people have a right to change and remove it. But this does not happen with executive wing, judiciary and media. As far as they are concerned, their rights and duties have been clearly prescribed and mentioned in the Constitution. Let Judges Quit the Courts & Contest Polls If They Want Our Job" he said.
