The Delhi High Court on Tuesday directed the Centre, AAP govt, and MCD to hold a meeting to discuss and deliberate upon the issue of finance of MCD.
The order came in the wake of an application moved by North Delhi Municipal Corporation alleging that Rs. 90.60 crore was due for the first quarter and Rs. 180 crore was due for the second quarter as grant-in-aid under the sanitation/urban development head which was meant for the payment of salaries of the workers.
The committee of representatives, the court further directed, would also look into the financial aspects of MCDs and the AAP government who claim to have yet to receive over Rs. 10,000 crores from the Centre as its share of GST collection.
The North Delhi Municipal Corporation claimed that the expenses of providing the workers with gloves, PPE kits, etc. were incurred by the corporation itself.
