Fallout of Spat: Justice Karnan shifted to single bench

Justice C S Karnan is accused of changing Judicial order post its announcement in open Court.

Post the spat between Justice AK Roy and Justice CS Karnan, Chief Justice Manjula Chellur has removed Justice C S Karnan from division bench to single bench for hearing petitions on primary education.Justice AK Roy would now be heading the division bench along  with another judge to hear bail petitions.

The High Court Bar Association has also pinned to the decision of it boycotting Justice Karnan's court even after he resumes duty.

The judge had sparked a controversy after he changed an order delivered by the bench in open court in the fly over crash case.

He granted bail to the accused though the bench had earlier turned down the plea.

Justice Roy had expressed his dismay on Tuesday, by pointing out that Justice Karnan did  not follow the procedure and also did not inform him,as he is the senior judge.

Justice Roy took it as an insult and said it was illegal.

He took up the matter with the Chief Justice Manjula Chellur.
