As part of it initiative to provide assistance to the needy lawyers in COVID times, Bar Council of Delhi has already disbursed nearly Rs 2.5 crores to needy advocates who applied till 2/4/2020. Rs.5000/- each was credited in the bank account of the applicants.
On persistent demand of advocates, all Bar Council of Delhi members have unanimously resolved to open window once again for 3 days to needy lawyers. Online applications, in format provided on BCD website can be submitted.
Link for the purpose has been activated and will remain active till 15.05 2020 till 2 PM. The Bar Council will share the link to all the advocates.
As per BCI resolution, Sh.Ved Prakash Sharma, Co-Chairman, BCI, has also added Rs.45 lakh from BCI Advocates welfare fund to BCD.
Those who have already received financial assistance from BCD are not eligible to apply. For transparency list of applicants will be displayed on BCD website.
Update: Sanjay Rathi Co-Chairman BCD has informed that Considering the extension of lockdown & requirements of needy Advocates Bar Council of Delhi have decided to provide financial support to advocates who are in need during this Covid-19 Crisis.
Request from only those advocates who are unable to meet their day to day expenses of food and medicines, will be entertained.
