CBI bursts a well oiled high profile Transfer racket at the Army Headquarters

Some Senior Officers are suspected to be involved in the case.

Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Lt. colonel & a middleman. Arrest is in connection with a transfer racket at Army headquarters in which some of the army officers allegedly paid lakhs of rupees in order to manipulate their postings.

Sources of CBI said today that Lt. Col. Ranganathan Suvramani Moni, posted in personnel division of Army & middleman Gaurav Kohli were arrested while an alleged bribe of ₹2,00,000 was changing hands for the transfer of a Bengaluru based officer.

The investigating agency had learnt of this illicit activities of some of the Army officers & laid a trap to arrest the 2 men.

This expose is bound to send ripples in the Indian Army.

CBI's FIR also names Brigadier S. K. Grover, DDG Personnel, although his name hasn't been included in the list of accused.

Case has been registered against Moni, Hyderabad-based army officer Purshottam, Bengaluru based barracks & stores officer S. Subhas & middleman(alleged) Gaurav Kohli.

The FIR alleged that the bribe was being paid through the hawala channels.

The agency is also probing how come Army officers were ready to pay such huge amount of money to get a posting of their choice.

It's alleged that Moni entered into a criminal conspiracy with Purshottam & Gaurav Kohli for influencing transfers of various officers.
