Allahabad HC will close from 12 August to 14 August 2020: Notice released by HC [Read Notice]

Allahabad High Court has issued an order for the closure of the high court from 12 August to 14 August because of the high number of cases of COVID 19.

On consideration of the rapid surge in the number of active Corona Virus cases at Prayagraj & Lucknow, the Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court has ordered that the Courts will remain closed from August 12, 2020 till August 14, 2020.

Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court issued the notice and stated that "I am satisfied that the circumstances demand to continue non-sitting of Courts. Accordingly, it is directed that there shall be no sitting of Courts on 12th, 13th and 14th of August 2020, in the High Court of Judicature at Allahabad,"

Only urgent matters shall be taken up on the aforementioned dates before the Chief Justice in Allahabad and before the Senior Judge at Lucknow, respectively.

All Judicial, as well as Administrative sections of the High Court, shall not function on these dates.

Further, there shall be no physical/e-filing on 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th of August 2020.

However, keeping in view the backlog of matters with the Stamp Reporting (Civil/Criminal) & Fresh Filing sections, they shall function with the required number of staff only, till the backlog is cleared.
