March 09, 2019:

On Saturday, an Indian pilot has been arrested in San Francisco over charges of downloading child pornography.

The Pilot was arrested soon after his flight from New Delhi landed in San Francisco airport.

The Mumbai-based pilot, who is the first officer, was handcuffed and deplaned in front of passengers. As per the local media reports, the pilot in question has been deported.

The US federal law prohibits the production, distribution, reception, and possession of an image of child pornography. The incident was reported on Monday and the FBI was behind the arrest.

After arresting him the US authorities seized his passport and cancelled his US visa.

The Pilot who is in his 50 s used to operate the US-based flights and after this incident, he will not be able to visit the US again.

As per reports, the FBI had been keeping an eye on his internet usage for the last 2 months during his stop in the country.

All air carriers operating US-bound flights are required to tender a list of passengers and crew to the US Bureau of Customs and Border Protection within 15 minutes after the departure of the flight which means that the FBI was waiting for him to re-enter the country before making the arrest.

The investigative agencies also handed over a sealed dossier with evidence of his internet usage while being in the USA to the Indian authorities.
