About the Journal

The Journal of Legal Studies (ISSN: 2321-1059 only Print) is an International Refereed Peer-Reviewed Journal of Legal Studies is published biannually in the month of January and July. The Journal focused on gathering knowledge on the different issues of Law. The Journal welcomes and encourages original legal research papers, articles, short notes and case comments, etc.

Papers are processed through a blind referral system by experts in concerned subjects. To ensure anonymity in reviewing the papers, the name of the author, co-author, designation, address, contact number, e-mail, and title of the paper should appear only on the first page of the paper.

Except for the call for paper, the most valuable and suggestive comments of all the readers are always awaited and welcomed in order to achieve the ultimate goal. We are looking forward to your contributions; all communications must be made only in electronic form e-mailed to journalforlegalstudies@gmail.com.

This issue of the journal brings together contemporary scholarship situated at the intersection of constitutionalism, technological transformation, and social justice, inviting critical engagement with digital constitutionalism in platform-governed societies, transformative constitutionalism and the judicial expansion of social justice in India, and the persistent realities of caste- and gender-based intersectional discrimination.

It further examines the use of artificial intelligence in judicial processes through the lens of transparency, fairness, and due process, offers a critical appraisal of informational privacy and data governance under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and advances constitutional discourse on menstrual health as a dimension of dignity, equality, and public health, while welcoming other pressing national and international issues shaping contemporary legal thought.

About the Chief Editor

Dr. Daniel Acquah, Senior Lecturer and Adjunct Professor of Intellectual Property Law at the University of Turku, Finland, has graciously agreed to serve as the Chief Editor of this volume.

Journal of Legal Studies shall be the sole copyright owner of all the published material. No part of this Journal may be used in any form whatsoever without prior written permission from the publisher.

Eligibility

The Journal of Legal Studies, a leading peer-reviewed legal journal, invites submissions for its upcoming Volume 14, Issue I, scheduled for publication in June 2026. This issue aims to provide a platform for academicians, legal professionals, scholars, and students to contribute to the ongoing discourse on pressing legal issues through research articles, case comments, book reviews, and critical essays.

Theme of this Volume

In this edition of the journal, we invite thought-provoking and scholarly contributions on the following pressing legal and socio-legal issues that shape contemporary discourse and governance:

  • Digital Constitutionalism and the Protection of Fundamental Rights in Platform-Governed Societies.
  • Transformative Constitutionalism and the Judicial Expansion of Social Justice in India.
  • Caste, Gender, and Legal Dimensions of Social Justice: Addressing Intersectional Discrimination in Indian Society.
  • Artificial Intelligence in Judicial Processes: Ensuring Transparency, Fairness, and Due Process.
  • Data Protection and Informational Privacy under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023: A Critical Appraisal.
  • Menstrual Health as a Fundamental Right: Constitutionalising Dignity, Equality, and Public Health.
  • Any Other Contemporary National and International Issues of Relevance.

Submission Categories

  • Research Paper: 5000-8000 words.
  • Article: 3000-5000 words.
  • Short Notes & Case Comments: 1500-2000 words.

Submission Guidelines

  •  All submissions are to be accompanied by an abstract of not more than 300 words and a minimum of 5 keywords.
  • Submissions on any contemporary issue relating to the law will be accepted.
  • Co-authorship is allowed for a maximum of 2 authors.
  • The first page of the manuscript must consist only of the name of the author(s), his/her institutional affiliation, and contact details.
  • All submissions are to be sent as an MS Word document.
  • Main Body: Times New Roman, Font Size 11, 1.0 Line Spacing, and Justified Alignment. 
  • Footnotes: Times New Roman, Font Size 09, 1.0 Line Spacing, and Justified Alignment. 
  • Citations must strictly conform to the standards laid down in Bluebook 21st edition.
  • The body of the mail must specify the type of manuscript.
  • Plagiarized work will not be entertained. 

Publication

  • There will be no publication charges for the publication.
  • The journal will be published in the print mode only in the month of June 2026.
  • The contributors whose submissions have been selected and published in the journal will be awarded a Certificate of Publication.
