On Thursday, in an unprecedented move, CJI Sharad Arvind Bobde said that a vacation bench of the Apex Court will hear urgent matters during the week-long Holi break.
So far, a vacation bench only sits during the summer vacation break.
CJI Bobde made the announcement after an Advocate sought an urgent hearing in a case.
Justice Bobde said that "It won't be on the day of Holi but during the week".
