Maternity Benefit (Amendment) Bill, 2016 is aimed at easing ine service conditions of Mother's of New Born Children.
The Deutsche Bank (DB) will offer six months childcare leave to the fathers, if they happen to be the principal caregivers, across Asia & Pacific.
The bank has decided to take this revolutionary step to delink parental leave from gender. It will come into effect from 1st January 2017.
This is certainly a path breaking step towards breaking gender stereotypes.
According to the internal notice circulated to the employees, the Bank replaces what was previously called maternity/paternity leave. This also covers adoption and surrogacy.
Deutsche Bank employees who are new parents can choose to either be the primary or non-primary caregiver. Employees who are non-primary caregivers can take 10 working days paid leave after the birth or adoption of a child below 7 years of age.
