On Monday, Delhi’s Tis Hazari Court extended the judicial custody of Rajesh Khimji and his associate, Tehseen Syed, in connection with the attack on the Chief Minister. Both accused were produced before the court via video conferencing.
Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Gaurav Goyal ordered that the custody of the two accused be extended until October 6. Special Public Prosecutor Pradeep Rana, along with Advocate Gagan Bhatnagar, represented the Delhi Police during the proceedings.
Rajesh Khimji, a resident of Rajkot, Gujarat, was arrested for allegedly attacking the Delhi Chief Minister during a Jan Sunvai at her official residence in Civil Lines. Following the investigation, Tehseen Syed, a friend of Khimji, was also taken into police custody. Both were remanded to judicial custody after questioning by the police.
A case has been formally registered against Rajesh Khimji at the Civil Lines Police Station by the Delhi Police, and the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
