Parliament has passed The Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Amendment) Bill, 2024 .
The Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order (Amendment) Bill, 2024 was introduced in Rajya Sabha on February 5, 2024. The Bill seeks to amend the Constitution (Scheduled Tribes) Order, 1950, in relation to Andhra Pradesh. The Order lists the tribes deemed to be Scheduled Tribes in states and union territories.
Scheduled tribes in Andhra Pradesh: The Bill adds the following to the list of Scheduled Tribes in Andhra Pradesh: (i) Bondo Porja, (ii) Khond Porja, and (iii) Konda Savaras
