The Central Government of India has assented for the appointment of Justice AlexanderThomas, senior most Judge of the Kerala High Court as the acting Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court.

The notification issued by the Law Ministry notifies that “In exercise ofthe power conferred by Article 223 ofthe Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint Shri Justice AlexanderThomas, seniormost Judge ofthe Kerala High Court, to perform the duties ofthe office ofthe Chief Justice of that High Court with effect from the date Shri Justice S. Venkatanarayana Bhatti relinquishes the charge as ChiefJustice ofthe Kerala High Court consequent upon his appointment as a Judge ofthe Supreme Court of India.”
