On Friday, during a hearing of a Land Acquisition matter, the Supreme Court Judges came across a light moment as they laughed off one of the most expensive Lawyers in the Country, Senior Counsel Mukul Rohtagi's remark that his client is 'poor.'
During the video-conferencing hearing, Ex-Attorney General further added that he has now started taking up matters of the poor.
The case was heared by a bench headed by Justice Arun Mishra. Rohatgi who was appearing for the petitioner said smilingly that he was happy about the fact that the Judges are equiped with all protection gears againt the COVID-19. Justice Arun Mishra replied affirmatively and said he too was happy to see Rohtagi and other Lawyers back on the job.
The hearing took place after Supreme Court opened its Chamber on Friday.
Asking for relief to his client, Learned Counsel Rohatgi made the statement. Noting that the Judges seem to have a queer feeling for his contention he clarified that the legal farternity has changed now and he has started taking up matters of the economically weaker group of clients.
Senior Advocate, Mukul Rohatgi is deem to be one of the most expensive Laywers in India.
