Recently, a special fast-track Court in Mathura involving the alleged rape and financial exploitation of a European woman came up for trial in a special fast-track court. The victim had claimed that she was cheated of nearly 1 lakh Euros under the pretext of marriage.

According to the prosecution, the woman had arrived in Mathura from Holland in 2009 with her foster brother for spiritual pursuits. She later came into contact with the accused, who presented himself as a bachelor and conducted a symbolic wedding ritual at his home. Over time, he allegedly siphoned off money through cash and ATM transactions, showing her forged investment documents.

Investigations revealed that the accused was already married and that some of his family members actively supported his actions. Certain proceedings against other family members were separated as they did not appear before the Court, while the case against the main accused and his mother was transferred to the fast-track court.

During the trial, evidence and witness statements were presented to establish the accused’s alleged exploitation and abetment by his mother. The victim’s testimony and investigative findings highlighted the financial and emotional manipulation involved in the case.

In the final proceedings, the Court found the accused guilty and sentenced him to 10 year's rigorous imprisonment with a fine of Rs 7.90 lakh, while his mother received five year's imprisonment with a fine of Rs 5.90 lakh. The Court also cancelled her bail and directed her immediate surrender.
