Madras High Court Chief Justice Sanjay Vijaykumar Gangapurwala expressed the need for the gradual implementation of paperless courts during his visit to the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court.

He revealed that the Chief Justice of India shares concerns about this subject and stressed the importance of taking steps in that direction.

During a welcome event organized in his honor, Chief Justice Gangapurwala sought the cooperation and support of all stakeholders in the upcoming initiatives aimed at implementing paperless courts. He particularly called upon advocates to set high standards of professional ethics and advocacy, stating that such benchmarks would greatly benefit junior advocates who would follow their lead.

Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception he received, Chief Justice Gangapurwala remarked that the affection shown by the attendees made him feel at home. This visit marked his first to the Madurai Bench after assuming the position of Chief Justice of the Madras High Court.

The event was attended by High Court judges, advocates, and court staff. Following the welcome address, a Division Bench consisting of Chief Justice Sanjay Vijaykumar Gangapurwala and Justice R. Subramanian proceeded to hear public interest litigation petitions and appeals.

The focus on paperless courts reflects the court's commitment to embracing technological advancements and streamlining judicial processes. As Chief Justice Gangapurwala leads the Madras High Court, the implementation of paperless courts is expected to be a significant milestone in enhancing efficiency and transparency within the judicial system.
