On Friday, Police told that a doctor in Puducherry claimed that 4 persons harassed several women living in a residential complex. The woman alleged that the 4 accused, including an Advocate, used to stalk women repeatedly.
The complainant works as an assistant professor at a private medical college hospital in Puducherry. The accused Lawyer was identified as Subramanian. The complainant alleged that Subramanian used to bully women, stalk & threaten them as well.
Accused supported by others
She claimed that the president of the residential association Sittaramane, secretary Anand & another person helped the advocate & supported his objectionable behaviour. The complainant further alleged that the women in the complex lived with fear & insecurity.
CCTV monitors installed at accused's home
The police said that over three-fourth of the families living in one of the apartments had raised an objection over the presence of CCTV cameras in lifts & terraces, the news agency reported. The residents alleged that the cameras violated their privacy.
Instead of keeping the monitors of the cameras at common places, they were kept inside the house of a legal advisor of the association.
The Lawspet Police registered a case under section 294 (b) (obscene acts & songs) & 354 C (voyeurism) of IPC. A probe was launched into the case.
