Police on Wednesday arrested a lawyer practising at the Madras HC in connection with a murder at Cheyyar near Tiruvannamalai on Sept 28.
An investigation officer said that the deceased, M Satish Kumar, was a close aide of a henchman of deceased Kanchi don Shridhar Dhanapalan. Kumar's death was a case of revenge-killing over political rivalry, police said.
The lawyer, Siva, 35, a native of Kancheepuram, was remanded in judicial custody by a magistrate court in Kancheepuram on Wednesday. Police are searching for an aide of the lawyer for his role in the murder of Kumar.
