The seventh round of talks between the government and the farmers will be held today. "So far, 60 farmers have lost their lives during the protest. One farmer is dying every 16 hours. It is the responsibility of the government to answer," Rakesh Tikait, Spox, Bharatiya Kisan Union at Gazipur border, said.

A day ahead of their key meeting with the protesting farmers, Agriculture Minister Narendra Singh Tomar on Sunday evening met Defence Minister Rajnath Singh to discuss the government's strategy to end the deadlock with the farmers over the new farm laws. The government officials and farmer union leaders will meet today for the seventh round of talks to resolve the current crisis at the earliest.
