Those arrested were Santosh Sanskar, a lawyer, & auto driver Arjun Multani. Both were produced before a Court & sent to police custody till April 25. Police sources said that the developer is constructing an SRA project at Tilak Nagar in Central Mumbai. “The two accused had one house each. But they were demanding two each.

They also threatened the complainant that they will complain to SRA & demanded Rs 7 crore. After negotiations, the amount was brought down to Rs 5 crore & finally to Rs 4 crore. The accused agreed to collect 15% (Rs 60 lakh) as the first installment. We laid a trap & arrested the duo when they had come to collect the money,” said an officer.
