Amid the Delhi AAP Government's staggering accusation of 'misuse of power' in the Dwarka Expressway Land-Overvaluation fiasco, the Delhi chief secretary Naresh Kumar has filed a defamation case against online news portal The Wire for implicating his son in the matter.

The Secretary has sought direction to The Wire to take down their article suggesting his son had links with a family that benefitted from the increased compensation.

The matter pertains to NHAI's acquisition of land for the Dwarka Expressway. The article casts aspersions that Kumar's son has benefited from the enhanced valuation of a plot of land being acquired by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) for the Dwarka Expressway.

Kumar, along with the take-down of the article has urged the court to restrain the particular reporter from further publishing any defamatory report.

The article titled "Links of Son of Delhi Chief Secretary to Beneficiary's Family in Land Over-Valuation Case Raise Questions" was published on 9th November raising concern over a potential conflict of interest that the Chief Secretary might have.

The single-judge bench of Justice Manoj Kumar Ohri has heard the matter and listed the same for further hearing tomorrow.

A legal notice requesting the take down of the article was sent to The Wire but to no vain.
