The Additional Sessions Judge, Azamgarh(Uttar Pradesh) has sentenced seven accused S/Shri Dhruv Singh, Mrityunjaya Singh, Dinesh Singh, Rajender Yadav, Sangram Singh, Durg Vijay Singh & Shiv Prakash to undergo Life Imprisonment in a case related to murder of Shri Sarvesh Singh, Ex-MLA and his Associate Shri Bharat Rai.
CBI had registered a case on 26.11.2013 on the request of Uttar Pradesh Government and had taken over the investigation of the case earlier registered vide Crime No.348/2013 dated 19.07.2013 at Police Station, Jiyanpur, District: Azamgarh( Uttar Pradesh). It was alleged that on 19.07.2013, Shri Sarvesh Singh, Ex-MLA was murdered during firing outside his house at Jiyanpur. His associate Shri Bharat Rai was also shot dead during the incident by two assailant, who after firing escaped on a black colour Hero Splender Motor Cycle with the help of third assailant who was driving the motor cycle. A chargesheet was filed by the State Police against the accused on 23.10.2013.
