The President of India has assented to the appointment of Justice Rajesh Bindal as Chief Justice of the Allahabad High Court.

The Notification states that “In exercise of the power conferred under the Constitution of India, Hon'ble President of India, in consultation with Hon'ble Chief Justice of India, is pleased to appoint Justice Rajesh Bindal as Chief Justice of Allahabad High Court”.

Justice Rajesh Bindal was transferred as a Judge of the High Court at Calcutta vide dated 31st December, 2020 and was sworn in as a Judge of the High Court at Calcutta on January 5, 2021.

Further he was appointed to perform the duties of the office of the Chief Justice of the High Court at Calcutta with effect from 29th April, 2021.

About Justice Rajesh Bindal 

Justice Rajesh Bindal was born on 16th April, 1961 at Ambala City in the State of Haryana (India). He did LL.B. from Kurukshetra University in 1985 and joined profession in High Court of Punjab & Haryana in September 1985. He represented Chandigarh Administration before Central Administrative Tribunal for more than a decade till 2004. He represented Punjab & Haryana regions of Employees Provident Fund Organization before the High Court and Central Administrative Tribunal from 1992 till his elevation.
