The Central government has notified appointment of Six Judicial and Seven Technical members to the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT).

The names of the judicial members are:

- Sonjoy Sharma (Advocate)

- S Seethalakshmi (Advocate)

Shatin Goyal (Additional District and Sessions Judge)

Anubhav Sharma (Additional District and Sessions Judge)

- TR Senthil Kumar (Advocate)

Manomohan Das (Law officer in SBI)

 - Deep Chandra Joshi (District Judge)

The notification issued by the Ministry of Personnel and Training has notified that,

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the proposal for appointment of the following persons as Judicial Member and Accountant Member in the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT), for a period 04 years with effect from the date of assumption of the charge of the post, or until attaining the age of 67 years, or until further orders, whichever is the earliest.”

About Income Tax Appellate Tribunal

India's Income Tax Appellate Tribunal was set up on 25 January 1941, and it was the first experiment in tribunalization in the history of India. It is second appellate authority under the direct taxes and first independent forum in its appellate hierarchy.
