The Karnataka High Court's Public Relations Officer (PRO), K Muralidhar, recently received a chilling threat call and WhatsApp messages, endangering the lives of six judges, including Justices Mohammad Nawaz, HT Narendra Prasad, Ashok Nijagannanavar, HP Sandesh, K Natarajan, and Veerappa. The threat messages, received from an international number on July 12 at 7 p.m., were conveyed in Hindi, Urdu, and English, as reported by India Today.

The distressing messages menacingly demanded a ransom of Rs 50 lakh from Muralidhar. Furthermore, the sender provided a Pakistani bank account number under 'ABL Allied Bank Limited' to deposit the extortion amount. Frighteningly, the message sender warned Muralidhar that non-compliance would result in the deaths of the six Karnataka High Court judges, carried out by a sinister 'Dubai gang'. Alongside this, the sender included a few mobile numbers, claiming, "Yah Indian hamare apne shooter hain (these are our Indian shooters)".

In response to this terrifying threat, the Bengaluru Police has taken immediate action, registering an FIR under several sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Information Technology (IT) Act. The police are actively investigating the matter to ensure the safety and security of the judges and the PRO.

This incident has raised serious concerns about the safety of judicial officers and the potential risks they face in their line of duty. The authorities are leaving no stone unturned to trace the source of the threats and bring those responsible to justice.

In a similar development, the Mumbai Police reported receiving a threat call warning about a tanker filled with RDX and the presence of two Pakistani nationals heading towards Goa. The authorities are investigating this matter as well to ensure the safety and security of the people in the region.
