The Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana plans to launch a series of lectures starting from today in order to provide training and guidance to junior lawyers and newcomers in the early years of their legal practice.
As a trial initiative, the Bar Council will conduct a lecture series lasting 35 minutes, beginning on July 4 and running until July 15, excluding Sundays. These lectures will be delivered by senior advocates and experienced practitioners.
The lectures will cover the following topics:
- ,Court procedures and etiquette
- Drafting, pleadings, and filing with the registry
- Simplified litigation
- Fundamentals of a specific area of legal practice
"The experienced professionals in the field have the necessary knowledge and expertise, and by leveraging their guidance and support, we can cultivate a more capable group of young lawyers. The Council believes that such an endeavor will greatly benefit lawyers who genuinely seek mentorship," stated Suvir Sidhu, the Chairman of the Bar Council, in a letter addressed to the Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association and the High Court Senior Advocates Bar Association.
The Council has appealed to the High Court Bar associations to collaborate and assist in recruiting senior advocates or seasoned practitioners who are willing to volunteer in training young lawyers at the Law Auditorium in Chandigarh.
